Brief description

Dr Esther Kur joined Zwicker Schnappauf & Partner Patentanwälte PartG mbB at the beginning of 2019.

Dr Kur is admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, the Federal Patent Court and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

Her main practice areas are the drafting of German, European and international patent applications and the prosecution of the corresponding grant proceedings. She is involved in opposition, infringement and revocation proceedings of German and European patents, as well as in the preparation of due diligence and freedom-to-operate opinions.

Dr Kur studied molecular medicine with a focus on tumour biology and stem cell research at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg. She did her doctorate at the Max Delbrück Centrum (MDC) Berlin in the research group of Prof. Thomas Willnow. During her doctoral thesis, she worked on the physiological functions of the endocytosis receptor LRP2. Subsequently, she did postdoctoral research on neurovascular interactions, in particular blood-brain barrier formation, with Prof. Chenghua Gu in the Department of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School Boston.

Dr Kur has received scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (DFG). She is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR).
