Brief description

Dr. Jens Schiener has been working in the field of intellectual property for more than fifteen years and joined Zwicker Schnappauf & Partner Patentanwälte PartG mbB in 2023. Previously, Dr. Schiener was a partner in two Munich patent law firms. 

Dr. Schiener is admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office. 

With a technical background in chemistry as well as biochemistry, Dr. Schiener specializes in advising clients in all areas of the chemical and, in particular, pharmaceutical sector, including pharmaceuticals (for example, small molecule and biologics), medical devices, biotechnology and diagnostics. He has successfully handled numerous patent application, opposition as well as appeal proceedings in the fields of chemistry, pharmacology and mechanics and has provided expert opinions in these fields.

Dr. Schiener studied chemistry at the Technical University of Munich. He completed his diploma thesis and doctoral dissertation at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry under Prof. Dr. Baumeister.

Dr. Schiener is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
