Brief description
Dr. Peer Gaentzsch is admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office. He joined the law firm "Zwicker Schnappauf & Partner Patentanwälte PartG mbB" in 2009, initially for his training. During his time at ZSP, he spent several months at a Spanish and a US patent law firm.
Dr. Gaentzsch studied biology at the Free University of Berlin, spending a year abroad at the University of Cambridge (UK) and a year at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen for his diploma thesis. He completed his doctorate in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Oxford (UK), where he conducted research in the fields of immunology and genetics. During this time, he was also a visiting scientist at the Leloir Institute at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). Dr. Gaentzsch has received grants from the EU, Boehringer Ingelheim, the University of Oxford and University College Oxford.
Dr. Gaentzsch focuses on drafting patent applications and conducting EP and international patent prosecution as well as EP opposition proceedings, mainly in the fields of biotechnology and medicine. He also conducts due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses and is involved in infringement and nullity proceedings.
