Brief description

His main practice areas are the preparation of German, European and international patent applications and the prosecution of the corresponding patent applications in the fields of biochemistry, pharmacy, molecular biology, genetics and microbiology. He also assists in opposition, infringement and nullity proceedings of German and European patents.

Dr. Hettmann studied biochemistry at the University of Hannover and completed his diploma thesis at the Hannover Medical School, Institute of Human Genetics. He was a doctoral student with Prof. Günter Schäfer at the Medical University of Lübeck, Institute of Biochemistry, and a post-doctoral student with Prof. Stephan Diekmann at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology Jena (current name: Fritz Lipmann Institute e.V.).
