Brief description

Dr. Zwicker is admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office. He has successfully conducted numerous patent application, opposition, and nullity proceedings in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and molecular biology for our national and international clients and has provided expert opinions in these fields, particularly in the context of licensing proceedings. Dr. Zwicker represents well-known European, American and Japanese companies.

Dr. Zwicker studied chemistry at the Technical University (TU), Berlin, and biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA. The TU Berlin awarded him the academic degree of Diplom-Chemiker. He completed his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. Rolf Müller at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Tumor Research (IMT), Philipps University, Marburg, and was subsequently a post-doctoral fellow under Prof. Robert Tjian at the University of California, Berkeley, USA.

Dr. Zwicker received fellowships from the "Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes", the German-American Fulbright Commission, the "Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds, Stiftung für medizinische Grundlagenforschung", from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and an EMBO postdoctoral fellowship.

Dr. Zwicker is an active member of LES International's Life Sciences Working Group.

Dr. Zwicker also teaches in the pharmaceutical law program at the Philipps University in Marburg and the Hessen International Summer University (ISU) "Innovation and Regulation in Pharma & Medtech" at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen.
