Brief description

Dr. Susanne Schollweck has 20 years of experience in the field of intellectual property. She joined the law firm Zwicker Schnappauf & Partner PartG mbB in 2010 and has been a partner since 2012. As a European Patent Attorney, Patent Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney, Dr. Schollweck is admitted to practice before the European Patent Office, the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Dr. Schollweck represents well-known European, American and Japanese companies.

Dr. Schollweck advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property, including application proceedings, opposition proceedings as well as litigation concerning patents, strategic management of patent portfolios, due diligence analyses and freedom-to-operate analyses. Her expertise spans the entire field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, supply engineering, materials science, process engineering and medical technology.

During her career as a patent attorney, Dr. Schollweck was head of the patent and licensing department of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. Therefore, Dr. Schollweck is also familiar with the needs of industrial societies or research institutes from the perspective of an in-house attorney.

Prior to her admission as a patent attorney, Dr. Schollweck successfully completed her studies in law for patent attorneys at the Distance-Learning University of Hagen and completed training periods at the German Patent and Trademark Office, Munich (Patent Division and Trademark Division), at the Federal Patent Court, Munich (Technical Appeals Board and Trademark Appeals Board) and at the District Court, Munich (Patent Division).

Dr. Schollweck studied physics with a focus on physical-chemical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences, Munich, Germany, and mechanical engineering with a focus on metal technology and chemistry at the Technical University, Munich, Germany. She also completed a degree in vocational education at the Technical University, Munich, Germany. During her doctoral thesis, Dr. Schollweck worked in the field of control engineering and received a scholarship from the "Bund der Freunde der Technischen Universität München".

Dr. Schollweck is active in intellectual property organizations such as Licensing Executives Society (LES) and INTA.

Dr. Schollweck regularly gives lectures and seminars on European and German patent law in Europe, the USA and Asia.
